Chronicles ofEldmoor

A pixel-art MMORPG for your browser. Bond with Echoes, the creatures that carry the last light of a broken crown, and explore one shared world on phone or computer, with nothing to download.

Free to play · No download · Phone and computer

The Bond

Echoes choose who they walk beside

When the Crown of Dawn broke, not all of its light fit into the five shards. The rest settled in the hearts of beasts. The Order of the Bond calls them Echoes, and an Echo has no owner: it chooses its hero.

Earn an Echo's trust through the Bond rite and it becomes your Ward. It walks at your side across the realm, fights beside you and grows with every road you share.

A Bond rite in the Whispering Woods: the ring around a Mossling, and the three Knots still tied

The Bond rite

Weaken a wild Echo, place an offering at your feet, stay inside the ring and step out of the waves when it struggles. Keep the three Knots tied and it chooses you. Nothing is thrown and no odds are shown: finish the rite and the bond is made.

Five aspects

Death, Winter, Flame, Tide and Life, the colours of the shards. Every Echo carries one and bites deeper into its opposite: Life into the undead, Flame into frost.

  • Death
  • Winter
  • Flame
  • Tide
  • Life

Ascension

An Echo ascends when two of three things meet: a strong Bond, what it ate or faced, and the right place at the right hour. Some lines branch at the last step.

  2. AwakenedMossfang
  3. AscendedMosswarden

Your Ward

One Echo walks out with you; the others wait at a Refuge of the Order. Choose its stance and it fights at your side, alone or with your group.

Legends and the Grimoire

Guardian Echoes keep what was still light in the five fallen guardians. Sealed Echoes sleep in reliquaries left by great foes and festivals, and a rare few shine Luminous. The Echo Grimoire records every form you meet: 161 to find today, and more than two hundred as the regions still to open arrive.

Three Grimoire rewards in the fitting room: butterflies of light with a woven mantle, a flame and a snowflake that circle the hero
Earned in the Grimoire, never sold. Bond enough forms and the Grimoire rewards you with looks of its own: Threads of Life with the Weaver's Mantle, Threads of Flame and Threads of Winter, shown in the game's fitting room.

A bond cannot be sold. Bonded Echoes are never for sale and never traded. The store only offers coats, colours an Echo agrees to wear.

A thousand years after the crown broke

The kings of Aurelia ruled from a citadel above the clouds, by the light of the Crown of Dawn. The last of them wanted eternity, and opened the door to the Void.

On the night of the Sundering the crown shattered into five shards. Each one found a guardian, and corrupted it.

  • DeathMorvath, the Bone King
  • WinterVaelthrax, the Glacial Wyrm
  • FlameIgnar, Heart of the Forge
  • TideVex, the Drowned Queen
  • LifeSylvara, the Thorn Queen

A thousand years later the dead walk the valley again, and Stonevale is the last light still burning. Someone has to gather the shards before the wrong hands do.

Crystals buy looks and convenience. Never power.

Eldmoor is free to play. The store exists so the realm can keep running, and it follows four rules.

  1. Looks and convenience.

Crystals buy outfits, Echo coats and other looks, plus conveniences such as a name change, the barber, outfit slots and character slots. Never power, XP, gold or progression speed, and never an Echo. A mount bought with crystals is a look; riding comes from a mount you earn or buy with gold.

  2. The free pass has the value.

Gold, protection stones, potions and elixirs sit on the free track of every season pass. Premium adds looks and crystals.

  3. The realm keeps the score.

Experience, gold, loot and quests are worked out by the server, not your browser. Nobody buys or edits their way to the top.

  4. No ads, no trackers.

No advertising, no analytics cookies, no selling of data. Not in the game, not on this site.

Questions

What is Chronicles of Eldmoor?

An online role-playing game in HD pixel art. You create a hero, bond with Echoes that fight at your side, and play the story from level 1 to 30 and an endgame arc to level 120 and beyond, alone or with friends, in a world shared by everyone on the realm.

What are Echoes?

Creatures that carry a thread of the broken crown's light. You earn an Echo's trust through the Bond rite, and it walks and fights beside you as your Ward, grows with you and ascends. Echoes are never mounts, and a bonded Echo can never be sold or traded.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. The game is free to play. An optional store sells crystals, and crystals buy looks and convenience (never power, XP, gold or progression speed, and never an Echo).

What do I need to play?

A modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to download or install, and your hero is saved on the realm.

How does the closed beta work?

The closed beta opens soon. Leave your email below. Before the first invitations go out we email you once to confirm it, then we invite confirmed sign-ups in the order they joined, by email, with a single-use invitation code.

What happens to my email?

We use it only for the beta: one email to confirm, one with your invitation. Every email has a link that removes you from the list at once. Until the beta opens we keep it at most 180 days from sign-up; an address that is not confirmed is deleted 30 days after we ask, and your entry 30 days after your invitation. Details in the privacy notice.

Which languages?

English and European Portuguese, in the game and on this site.

Is there a level cap?

No. Past level 30 every level costs more, the endgame story runs to level 120, the Depths have two hundred floors and the Crown League starts a new season every month.
